Why Eastern Victoria Matters to Me

Eastern Victoria isn’t just where I’m running

—it’s home.

I’ve lived, studied, worked and raised my family here: in the hills, along the coast, and on the hospital floors where our communities turn in times of need. I’ve stood beside workers, spoken up for the climate, heard you call for a change and watched firsthand how policy decisions in Spring Street ripple through lives from the Yarra Ranges, to the Mornington Peninsula, to the Latrobe Valley to Lakes Entrance.

This is a vast and diverse region—with different needs and one shared truth: we’re all affected by broken systems and neglected services.

A Region of Contrasts—One Vision for Change

🔹 In the Latrobe Valley, workers are navigating the uncertain transition away from coal. I support a just transition—with jobs in renewable energy, retraining, and investment in local manufacturing, so no one is left behind.

🔹 Across Gippsland’s farms and rural towns, climate change is hitting hard—droughts, floods, and fire. I will advocate to invest in farmers’ climate resilience, local food security, and regenerative agriculture.

🔹 Along the coast, tourism and small business are vital—but under pressure from housing stress and short-term rentals. I’ll push for stronger rental protections, affordable and accessible housing in regional Victoria and infrastructure that supports liveable, happy, healthy communities.

🔹 In the hills and outer suburbs, families are squeezed by rising costs, poor public transport, and underfunded schools. I’ll fight for inclusive, well-resourced education and stronger services in overlooked areas—not just Melbourne’s inner circle.

From Lived Experience, to Policy Action

I’m not a career politician—I’m a nurse, a community advocate, and a local. My policies are shaped by what I’ve seen and heard on the ground:

  • Communities struggling after bushfires and floods

  • People locked out of housing, trading their dignity and health for shelter

  • Workers with side hustles, still lining up at food banks

  • Families choosing between medication, food, bills or fees

That’s why I’m fighting for housing justice, stronger public services, climate resilience, and a fairer system—for every postcode in Eastern Victoria.
