Zero Waste Festival - 10 Sep 2025

Enjoyed an amazing and inspiring visit at the Zero Waste Festival in Melbourne, learning from climate rescue enthusiasts, experts and entrepreneurs.

Got to catch up with the youth panel hosted by Konrad Benjamin (@punterspolitics), and featuring Clancy Lester (@beesandblossoms.aus), student Saina Mirpuri, Elly Hanrahan (@globalvoicesau) and Connor Wright (@djindjabad) to chat about the changes we need to see for a bright future. These young people are the embodiment of hopeful action, finding a way to a safe, happy, liveable future.

Spoke with representatives from businesses in manufacturing that are working to reduce harmful creation methods, and others developing and improving the processes used to reclaim and recycle materials.

It was a pleasure to meet Nan and the team of grass-roots menders offering their services to repair and rescue garments and equipment, preventing waste and saving money. My beloved 20 year old duffle coat received new loops and is back in use!
